In the battle of “Desk vs. Puppies” the clear and overwhelming winner is PUPPIES!!!!
Yup, not much has happened in my electronic life, behind on mail – both e and snail, have not blogged in awhile, and pretty much not accomplishing most of the things I usually do sitting inside at my desk since April 11th. Cause that is when Bedbug gave birth to a litter of beautiful puppies we are calling the Rocket Dogs. (more on that later)
So it goes down like this, I am all motivated and ready to get some serious work done at the desk. Outside chores are done, I am washed up, fresh cup of coffee, and I head over to the desk to buckle down and accomplish stuff. But then an adorable little grunt, squeak, squeal, or not fully formed attempt at a bark… Oh better check on the puppies! That’s it, game over, puppies win again. But before you judge me harshly for my choices, just look at what I am up against.
Here we have my desk, all ready for me to go to work.
And here we have a pile of puppy cuteness!!!!
Seriously, the desk never stood a chance!
As a matter of fact, I just heard a squeak, better go check the puppies, this might take awhile….
OK managed to pry myself away, now let’s finish this blog.
As I said we are going with the space theme for this litter, more specifically things that get shot into space; rockets, satellites, and such. We will definitely have a Dawn in the group. Dawn is the first spacecraft to orbit two extraterrestrial bodies and is headed to Ceres. (learn more here) And we have a very good friend named Dawn who we hope will enjoy having a puppy named after her. Might also be using the name of the Soviet Space Dog, Laika , although not manufactured by humans she was shot into space by them so technically it fits. The whole Rocket Dogs theme really came from another good friend Marlys. She emailed me with it the other day, both Dan and I really liked the idea and names she suggested. Plus Marlys was inspired by our mutual friend Cristin. She and her partner Mike were recently made NASA Solar System Ambassadors and will be doing educational and outreach programs. It is a fun theme that lets us involve our friends. Plus a lot of things that have been shot into space have really cool sounding names. So now we just need to start to narrow down the list and settle on the final choices.
Wait, was that a yip… be right back…
OK I am *this* close to admitting total lack of productivity when faced with overwhelming adorableness – again. But before the desk loses another battle, let me throw a little puppy distraction your way. Some undeniably cuddle worthy, sweet puppy breath having, aw shucks they are just too cute, puppy photos. Might be just the sabotage or time sink your days needs.
Photos are shown in chronological order starting with day one and leading up to today. For your procrastinating pleasure BedBug and I proudly introduce the Rocket Dogs.
