After an entire day of vet visits and physical exams in town yesterday (see photos here) both the dogs and the mushers were ready to get out and enjoy some sunshine and fun on the trails around our home! And that is exactly what we did. I had the camera with to document it all and share with you. And since a picture is worth a thousand words I will spare you my ramblings and just get right to the photos, enjoy!
The day begins with the dogs relaxing after their morning drink –
Wizard, MK, and Ribdon all sunning themselves
Handsome Hans
A Boy Named Sue
ChaseUm hanging out in his house
Wizard, the Wonderful Wizard of Dog
Then Dan and I started getting the teams ready to run –
Harnesses on and waiting in team.
“Spanky says, Thanks for the booties Dan”
And we hit the trails! –
Beautiful sky with the hint of the moon showing
Hoar frost covered trees glitter in the sun.
Taking a quick break on the way out –
Cooling off in the snow
MK and Wizard
Lined out and ready to go again.
Dan and I did a head on pass at the halfway point –
Teams perk up when they see each other
This shot was taken on the fly as the teams slid past each other.
Dan on his way past me
And he is headed home, while I go on to the turn around
Quick snack for the team at the turn around spot –
Everyone got a nice piece of fish
And then we are headed home –
Running into the sun
Fortunate to have trails like this right in my back yard
Doesn’t get much better then this!
“May you always walk in sunshine. May you never want for more. May Irish angels rest their wings right beside your door.”
Irish Blessing
